Exciting Next Phase for BDL Since Merging with NFB

Updated: Jan 12

In a thrilling next step, Bottomley Distillers has moved into a new and improved distillery; a staggering fourteen times the size of their previous space. As a definitive next step for the UK-based brand, the move will see them continue to grow into a leading industry competitor.

“Bottomley Distillery is central to our regional and global success” Says Dean Draper, Next Frontier Brands’ Managing Director of UK & EU. “It is a pleasure to work with such a distinguished and capable distillery team. We look forward to what the future holds.”

Bottomley Co-Founders, Amy Conyard and Alan Bottomley remain at the head of the distillery team, dedicated to Bottomley’s ethos of a family-run business which invests in the local community. According to Amy, it was “very surreal getting the keys for the new distillery site, just over 2 years since we got the keys for the last one! It’s been an incredible journey so far and we are so excited to share this next part of our story with you, every step of the way.”

During the last UK lockdown, Bottomley commercially produced nearly 15,000 litres of hand sanitiser to support NHS services and essential workers through the Covid-19 Pandemic. In early 2020 Bottomley also partnered with St. Barnabus Hospice to raise vital funds for the organisation with the creation and sale of their “Est. 1982” label gin. Nearly a year later, their commitment to the community in Lincolnshire remains just as strong. Since merging with Next Frontier Brands in September of last year, they have continued their dedication to positively impacting the local visitor economy, local area investment and job creation.

Speaking on the new space, Alan says: “it’s a massive step forward for the distillery, the new site will house our 5,000 litre still which can be viewed directly from the visitors centre. We will continue to operate sustainably and ethically, whilst creating employment to develop and grow our staff.” While the Bottomley team is hard at work bringing their new space together, they will still be producing their award-winning Pin Gin throughout the latest UK lockdown.

Important meetings already taking place in the new distillery.
